Application Case: Wireless BSD Forklift Safety System with Laser Positioning
Application Challenge
Forklifts frequently operate in warehouses, factories, logistics centers and loading areas where pedestrians, goods and vehicles share limited working space.
The forklift mast, raised loads and vehicle body can create significant blind spots. Drivers may have difficulty seeing nearby pedestrians and accurately judging the position of the forks when approaching a pallet. Traditional wired camera systems are also difficult to install along a moving forklift mast.
To address these challenges, ZIYANGXING developed a 2.4 GHz digital wireless BSD forklift monitoring system combining fork-view monitoring, laser positioning, pedestrian detection and synchronized safety warnings.
System Configuration
The complete four-channel system includes:
One 7-inch wireless touchscreen monitor;
One compact forklift camera with laser positioning;
Two side-view BSD cameras;
One rear-view BSD camera;
External audible and visual alarms;
Strobe warning lights;
An in-cab directional driver indicator;
A 9600mAh rechargeable magnetic power bank.
Laser-Assisted Fork Positioning
The compact forklift camera is installed near the fork carriage using its strong magnetic base.
Its built-in laser provides a clear positioning reference, while the live image is displayed on the monitor inside the cab. Together, the camera and laser help the driver align the forks with the pallet more accurately, reducing repeated adjustments and the risk of damaging goods.
The magnetic mounting and wireless transmission design also simplify installation without requiring a long video cable along the forklift mast.
AI Blind Spot Detection
The 7-inch monitor has a built-in BSD intelligent algorithm that continuously analyzes images from the side and rear cameras.
When a pedestrian or moving vehicle enters a preset detection area, the system immediately activates the warning mechanism.
The detection area and alarm sensitivity can be adjusted according to the forklift structure, camera position and working environment.
External and In-Cab Warnings
The system provides coordinated warnings for both pedestrians and the forklift driver.
External Warning
The external audible and visual alarm emits a warning sound to alert pedestrians and nearby vehicles. At the same time, the strobe light flashes to make the forklift’s danger zone more noticeable.
Driver Warning
The in-cab indicator beeps and flashes in the corresponding direction. For example, when the left-side camera detects a risk, the left indicator flashes, helping the driver identify the location of the hazard quickly.
Wireless Monitoring and Recording
The system uses 2.4 GHz digital wireless transmission and can reach up to 450 meters in an open area.
The monitor supports up to four wireless cameras and provides single, split-screen and quad-view display modes. It also supports video recording, loop recording and playback, allowing operators to review important events when necessary.
